one more thing
to sync the above raw with the flomp subtitles
the subtitles after the intro will have to be shift back 10 seconds

If you look at the SD encode you will notice that the ending on it is somewhat choppy in places. This is because its at 23.976 fps when the source video is actually at a higher framerate.
This means in the encoding process some frames were dropped that contain motion. So even on a fast machine a 23.976 fps ending will not play back smoothly since the video itself isn't smooth.
So you either get an ending that shares the fps of the source video in HD that might not play back on slower machines, or you get the SD that will have a somewhat choppy ending on every machine.
The SD encode is meant to play back on as wide a variety of computers as is reasonable, and the HD is meant to look as good as it can. If you can play back everything but the ending on the HD you are doing OK. If the ending gives you a bit of trouble that is unfortunate but any changes to it compromise the overall quality of the video for everyone.
One additional setting available on CoreAVC that might help you a little bit is to allow it to skip deblocking when safe, this will slightly reduce cpu usage in some situations.

The hardsubbed ending karaoke should be able to be played with 60fps any dual core Windows machine. You will need coreavc but it will work. It may also play back on fast single core machines. Episode 168 was hard to play back since it had softsubbed karaoke. Episode 168 with softsubbed karaoke on a 60fps was a bad idea.
I can play 169 and 170 back on a Vista machine with almost no issues on a 2.0ghz core 2 duo processor with coreavc 1.7 (1.6.5 should be slightly faster) and the playback limited to running on a single processor core.
The ending at 60fps technically hurts the compression slightly because there are more frames to encode but due to multiple factors it shouldn't hurt quality. It makes the ending smoother and also makes the karaoke effects smoother. 23.976 is actually a really low framerate, it works out OK for film due to motion blurring and other film effets but its not really smooth for digital video and stuff like games. 30fps is decent, 60fps is smooth.

pstatic Says:
why do you need a separate sub file?

because i use the subs with a raw file since i don' want anything enocded on the video like the karaoke which is becoming REALLY annoying & when episodes have these framerate problems or other encoding problems i don't have to bug the group since the raws i have are usually fine

@ForceDestroyer

Thanks for the HD, but I should report that the framerate was pretty inconsistent on VLC OSX although I usually run 720p smoothly. Man I miss XP.

i still don't get it why the slow ED, i mean, sure my pc isn't new but isn't old either, i can play crysis at very high at stable 30fps yet ep 168 and 170 look terrible at the end, any special reason why 60fps encode? so now i should just buy a quad core to play the ed? common... -_-

btw cool avatars

eh im ok with the plot turn. i mean its better than them fouling up the manga like with fullmetal alchemist. at least this way there is no change in the manga storyline. and for those who have not read whats going on since 167, it gets so much better.

@ViralGaara: Okay, I should have cited correctly: "exclusive to the Anime". True, you didn't say it was in the Manga, but I assumed that is what original Bleach content is created as. Do you have any reason to believe that Tite Kubo is even fine with this abomination of a "plot turn"?

I was not being sarcastic. I do stop watching if I don't like it, and so I did for a while, up to the Hueco Mundo arc. But I don't dislike Bleach.

I wonder how you can enjoy Bleach and not notice the massive difference in style between the two kinds of Episodes there are. If they really were made by the same author, he must be on drugs from time to time. And willing to cut up his timeline.
