Bleach delayed this week

Sorry to disappoint everyone, but Bleach episode 171 will be delayed this week because a lot of our translators are absent and the other staffs are busy with projects and whatnot. You can probably expect it sometime this weekend. That being said, we are always looking for new staff, so if you feel you qualify for one of the positions, just leave a message in the Recruiting Staff page or drop by irc for more details. That’s all for now.

    Noooo!! What pain xD

  2. josh Said:

It sucks but thank you for at least letting us know. i have a bunch of podcasts and anime i am behind in anyways.

  3. yashau Said:

Bleach is pretty boring these days anyways with all these fillers and all. I will wait

  4. Yu-kun Said:

no biggie. good luck and more power to flomp!

  5. Luffyah Said:

ah, btw, can you stop using variable frame rates, when you already uses 350mb?

anime are always only shown in 23 fps and this vbr creates only useless slowdownes on my pc

but thx for all you work and keep up the good work ;)

  6. Any chance you could release XVID AVI one to 3 weeks after the MKV’s for people that watch XviD AVI’s on DVD players that support Divx3/4/5/XviD
and USB media players that support Divx3/4/5/XviD

Noticed a RAW in XVID and MP3 sound
    [TV-Japan] BLEACH – 171 RAW [704x396 XviD+mp3]
    http://www.mininova.org/tor/1429712

All that would be needed to add subs
    no re-encoding needed at all.

  7. shippuudenfan101 Said:

i love the variable frame rates plz dont change it

  8. James Said:

I agree with shippuudenfan101.. variable frame rates are good! Don’t change ANYTHING! Get a faster processing component luffyah! ;)

  9. Luffyah Said:

what’s better with variable frames rate?

  10. Luffyah Said:

the anime in japan are capped at 23.976 framesper second … – when using a file-size below 170mb for HD, variable frame rate would really be interesting, but with 350mb I don’t see the point in it

  11. shippuudenfan101 Said:

at luffyah just shut up and and let them do wht they want

@ pablo212 plz dont listen to him..dont change any thing

  12. Dark-Aries Said:

You guys are arguing about encoding….first the switch to mkv and now this.

Variable framerate is fine, it’s planning for huge fight scenes when they happen. IT also allows for better compressability (atleast I think so) meaning higher quality fansubs. Flomp know what they’re doing. The only thing I’d like to see is Nero Digital AAC…It’s a free codec, with awesome audio compressability…HE64kbs? Just try it….:)

  13. hollowichigoxx Said:

hi i have a question when i’m watching the anime i upload from you guys there are like sub probs that i’m getting like (^ a) and carzy stuff like that so can any body help me with this problem

  14. Dark-Aries Said:

Your computer probably doesn’t have the right fonts installed….what OS are you using? Mac, Windows or Linux?

I’m not positive this is the problem but it might be.

  15. Spock Said:

The recent HD releases of bleach have been using high bitrate AAC audio, it might be directly copied from the raw. If that is the case any further audio compression will result in a loss of quality.
Given a high enough bitrate the vast majority of people won’t be able to hear a difference between most modern codecs, and there is no way that Nero AAC sounds better at 64kbps than AAC or Vorbis at 128kbps let alone 160kbps+.
I have tried lower bitrate audio and I don’t like it at all. Recent modified Vorbis encoder builds also do an extremely good job for audio compression.
It may be fine for a lot of people and their audio setups, but it sounds bad on high quality speakers or headphones. And I am not talking about Logitech speakers, I am referring to non-computer speaker systems that are much higher quality.

  16. josh Said:

Yea i have a nice Klipsch suround sound set and i appreciate the high quality in sound. Most people who download anime just want it and dont car much about the quality at all. I’m glad theer are some fan subbers out there who prefer doing it all in high quality. Thanks

  17. Luffyah Said:

this doesn’t look like arguing to me.

if you guys all wanna vfr so do so. if the advantage is a better compressability, then I still don’t see the point.

if this strange guy shippuudenfan wants pablo to use vfr, then do so ….

  18. chelms Said:

If the program I use is correct the audio stream of bleach is only 20mb-30mb in a 340mb file that size is irrelevant. Thank you Spock for pointing out that if the audio of the raw is an acceptable size it is best to leave it instead of losing quality by re-encoding. If however you are actually in Japan and recording with your TV card then you have to re-encode to reduce file size.

  19. Al Said:

I don’t see the point of vfr either, in fact I think i’ve noticed it in the last episode. It’s pointless because 24 fps is already as low as you can get (in fact some may notice a difference between 24 and 30 in a normal movie action sequence). And it’s also of little use in general because static scenes are better compressed anyway.

Apart from this, mkv sucks because it’s totally unsupported and will remain that way forever, mp4 would be much better if you’re not going to use avi in any case. My 2c

  20. Karloni Said:

so thats why bleach got delayed huh? xxxHOLiC Kei eh

  21. Dark-Aries Said:

Raws come with AAC now? That means less audio encoding…meaning faster flomp eps! and faster archiving for mw…yay!

also what is up with the endings? in 169 or 170…I forget but the bleach ED was at 23.97 and was totally out of sync with the audio…might of just been KMPlayer though…oh and I’m having a big headache trying to make the ED 23.97 by ITCV or any other means…

  22. anonymous Said:

if you dont like the way it plays on ur comp then encode it urself you ungrateful bastard. lol

    get xvid4psp: http://www.winnydows.com/news.php

  23. Dark-Aries Said:

How am I ungrateful? I just said for some reasonn the Ed was playing wrong. It was probably playing at 23.976 when it’s encoded at 60fps….but a 120fps video solves everything…:)

  24. hollowichigoxx Said:

@Dark-Aries i have a windows vista and i really don’t know whats going on like the subtitles are fine it just thoese small erros that come up like when they say like “i am” or somthing like that and thoes ^ a come up and it goes right where the i is

  25. Sarreq Teryx Said:

@Al: about VFR, anime could be as low as 12fps (action or not, not counting still scenes), but up converted to 23.976, 24, 25, 29.976, 30, 59.976 or 60fps for broadcast, or to comply with DVD or one of the HD optical formats, I don’t see why VFR shouldn’t be used.
and about MKV, it’s not totally unsupported, support for it has been growing quite steadily lately, just because you made the poor choice of buying an apple product, don’t bash something which COULD actually completely replace AVI as a universal format.

that said, from what I’ve seen, VFR does not play well with current subtitle formats, which all seem to rely on a steady framerate instead of using a timecode.

@Dark-Aries: 1. I’ve tried using Nero’s HE64kbps AAC, it causes lots of hiss for some strange reason, I say a minimum of 96kbps would be best.
    2. 120fps can be unplayable for a large portion of viewers, trying to pump that fast a frame rate on many set-top boxes, and plenty of computers gives some very jerky playback.

@the Flomp Staff: keep up the excellent work, I’m still looking forward to 171 and beyond (filler or not).

  26. Yu-kun Said:

    nice theme~

  27. Sick Said:

Please don’t switch to HE-AAC. LC is good and its compatible with the 360 and PS3.

  28. Chappy Said:

why is it all of those sub groups that subs the same anime as dattebayo always looking 4 staff, having problem with staffs etc… etc…. or is it just a coincidence

  29. Chappy Said:

are all those sub groups being sabotage or kinda like that? (–_–)?

  30. gary niger Said:

    Yes.
GNAA undercover operatives are sent out to sabotage fansubbing groups to make sure Dattebayo keeps their monopoly.

  31. Mr. Flibble Said:

If there’s a choice between the xvid or mkv formats I always go for the mkv as its usually soft subs which look much better on large screens and can be placed outside of the viewing area alot of the time. almost of the releases I watch are now mkv, its only Naruto from DB that I get in xvid now.

Thats why I’m waiting for this mkv version instead of the DB one. Plus the picture is a lot better on the flomp encodes.

  32. a Said:

Any news regarding delay which was supposed to end by previous weekend? 172 is out, too.

  33. anonymous tipster Said:

same here Mr. Flibble, but not naruto. cant stand naruto. and I cant be bothered to download a dattebayo bleach episode anymore. whats the point in watching a low quality version and then a high quality version – I just want to see each episode once but in high quality…you need a good graphics card to be able to balloon the dattebayo subbed bleach episodes making them high resolution. am I wrong? >.<

  34. ohmy Said:

I’m Curious why not just use tv-Japans HQ HD Bleach (eg . [TV-Japan] BLEACH – 172 RAW [1280x720 h264+AAC D-TX].mkv) and leech on DB subs, you could release eps in no time; subs are decent but you get the goodness of true 720p or a pretty dam upconv.

  35. Viral Gaara Said:

    what ohmy said (above) is kinda smart really;
i mean what i personally do to watch naruto is DL a good raw and use avisub detector to rip the subtitles from DB

i would love to see a group do that just to piss DB off, i mean they cant actually do anything !

The group: ADC-Elites, anounced that they were stopping one piece, why ?

“…But there is no need for us to sub One Piece anymore since Vega Punk is doing an excellent job…”
    (from their website)

some other group did it and did it better. ITS THAT SIMPLE, and ADC-Elites realised that
its sad that this kind of maturity is far from reaching some others…

  36. Joe Said:

    No bleach 172 either? :(

  37. josh Said:

    @viral Gaara
DB’s subbing blows and everyone here knows it. Why would you what shitty shubs from them. Flomp does a hell of a job and much better job at it. If it takes a bit longer so be it. Not like your missing much, it all pointless boring filler anyways.

  38. viral Gaara Said:

    @josh
im not gonna say you’re wrong but i was talking about naruto which doesn’t get a fair treatment from any group (sd-project is good but far behind) alot of people rip their (db) subs off but i’d like to see what they’d do if someone did it on a large scale like put their subs on a site together with good raw links, what would db do ? hopefully quit

  39. ohmy Said:

    Well I’ve just ripped the subs off 54, 55, 60, 61
took about 30mins to type out each ep (+edit), so far timing ep 60 half way took about 2hrs. Basically they fit saiyaman (wit commercials cut) and tv-japan (same length as DB and saiyaman w commercials edited); 51,52,53, 56,57,58,59 some guy released them I just edited the font to my liking to match my soon tbr. So, all and all I could release db subs on the highest 720p rip either saiyaman or tv-japan, when tj doesn’t release (95 percent release rate) so it all it takes 6hrs to rip the subs and time them obviously I exclude the op/ed music lyrics (don’t see the need for a English translation that doesn’t match the Japanese tune). Connection 10/1

  40. ohmy Said:

Site really needs an edit button…

  41. Konohaavid Said:

You guys are Badass. Don’t change ANYTHING. Your softsub, H264 codec combo is awesome. The only problem I ever had is that I really like consistency and first episode that started using HD you guys didn’t do the proper hardsub openings and endings, which sort of clashes with the rest of the later releases. I don’t if it would be too much to ask for a V2. That same episode also didn’t have the sponsors cut after the opening credits.

    Also,
I do SOFTSUBS for Naruto Shippuuden, so if you guys want to use my softsobs, you have my email.

  42. afif89 Said:

    uh…that bad
i hate to download the animate through bittorent files
    it very slow
    ……please came to work faster
i have miss 2 latest episode of bleach 172 and 173
..hoping you are back within this week……..see ya
